Geska Helena Andersson works
as Research Facilitator at the Interactive Institute
- a national Swedish R&D institute, performing interdisciplinary
research and innovation within the field of digital
media. Ms Andersson is also associate researcher of
the SMARTLab at London College and course director/lecturer
at the Imagineering-programme at Malmo University.
She has a degree in film and drama
from the University of Lund. alongside with studies
in philosophy, modern literature, ethnology and women
studies, and she is trained at the Kaospilot University
in Aarhus, Denmark/San Francisco, US - a three year
educational and experimential program in entrepreneurship
and leadership, focusing on the professional spheres
of creativity, innovation and intercultural understanding.
Ms Andersson has worked as a freelancing
film and drama critic for six years, and with stage
and costume design alongside Bente Lykke Moller at the
State Theatre in Malmo. She has extensive experience
within the field on new media, both on research, management
and creation.
Geska has also worked with high-end
media productions in a commercial context; as Creative
Director of Scandvision Mediahouse in Malmoe - one of
Sweden's largest communication and production companies
in the field of film and interactive media, and later
at the award-winning web agency Moonwalk Sthlm where
she launched the new hm.com. She is specialised in community-based
storytelling, and director of the non-profit organisation
digitalbridge.
In 2000 she was the spokesperson of
the Europrix jury, (member of the jury 2000, 2001, 2002)
and is a member of the Europrix Strategy Group, the
EADiM (European Academy of Digital Media) and the EUfp5
project RADICAL (Research Agendas Developed in Creative
Art Labs), funding member of the DSA (Digital Storyelling
Association) in Europe and US as well as chair of the
board for the SMARTLab thinktank series.
