The Hellenique Broadcasting Corporation is a private company established by the state of Greece to run the public Television and Radio. Founded in 1938, took its final form on 1987. It covers all over Greece, Cyprus, while certain programs are available for Greeks who live abroad specially through satellite TV and Internet.

ERT follows an ambitious program of modernization since it is the official Broadcaster for Olympic Games of 2004.

Among its more than 2000 personnel, ERT has the most experienced professionals with long history in the fields of New technology and management.

ERT' s mission is to develop public radio and television by means of the production of high quality and prestigious programs providing unbiased and complete information, polyphony, entertainment, safeguarding historical memory and the Greek language promoting Greek, European and worldwide culture. Furthermore, ERT plays a significant role in cultural activities in the country using a variety of means, such as the operation of a " Museum- Archive" , Musical Ensembles, publications , and supporting the Greek cinema.

ERT SA is responsible for providing radio and television services of public interest as distinct from other radio and television organizations of the private sector which tend to stress more the commercial element.
